The government of Turkey proudly presents Safe Tourism applications to the world to ensure the travel safety of both types of tourists, domestic and foreign, throughout the whole tourism process from entering the country to departing from any ports of Turkey. The program ensures safe and comfortable travel to the guests of Turkey depending on the general instructions and guidelines set by the combined work of ministries of Turkey.
As per the international standards the program offers seven main services namely Accommodation, Food and beverage, Culture, Art and congress, Sea tourism, Theme parks, Ski lifts, and Tour transfer services. International Audit companies approved by the ministries certify the tourist services.
Health and safety of Tourists
All the individuals and staff related to welcoming tourists, strictly follow safety rules which include wearing complete PPE. As well the guests are supposed to be wearing masks to enter the port. The temperature of all travelers will be measured and recorded by thermal screening. All the elevators and queues are arranged such that they maintain social distancing guidelines. If any tourist is found with the symptoms of COVID-19 then the individual will have to go through a COVID-19 test by healthcare staff and will be isolated in the quarantine room for the time being. In case the test turns out positive then the individual will be treated at the nearest health center.
Protection against COVID-19
Turkey being the choice of more than millions of tourists every year led the government to launch the program ‘Safe Tourism Certificate’ that ensures the health and accommodation of the guests in this pandemic. Turkey, which is one of the first countries to initiate the program also made the trip more enjoyable and safe for its guests by offering ‘Tourist Protection Support Insurance’ and ‘Extra Accommodation Cost Guarantee’ in a single package.
Tourist Facilities’ Actions
The program has taken several important steps related to the facilities of the tourist spot to ensure the safety of the guests.
- Once passing the temperature screening process the guests will be able to enjoy the facilities.
- All the equipment and the site itself are programmed to be sanitized and disinfected every once in a while.
- All the ventilation systems are to be checked regularly.
- Social distancing will be strictly maintained by the host members and the guests as well in common rooms, swimming pools, meeting rooms, and recreational areas. The capacitance of the site will be reduced.
- Rooms for the guests will be equipped with sanitary equipment which will be replaced with new ones and the room will be disinfected once the guests check out.
- Glass separators will be used between guests and staff in open buffets and in case of other services, preventive measures will be taken by wait staff serving food to the guests.
- Cutleries that can be re-disinfected will be used in kitchens, other than that, disposable ones will be used.
- Packaged seasonings will be served at the table for the guests.
Social distancing will be maintained strictly in any means of transportation responsible for tourism activities. At least one seat distance will be kept between passengers. All vehicles will be sanitized and disinfected before and after every trip. The temperature of all passenger and staff will be measured before trip and everyone will be required to wear mask for the whole trip.
Ensuring Employees Health And Safety
We assign health and hygiene the first priority. Before our staff members enter the airport facilities, they will undergo a pre-shift screening for symptoms. The screening will take place through thermal cameras and non-contact thermometers.
We will provide regular hygiene and sanitation support to our staff. Moreover, we offer no compromise in facilitating necessary hygiene, sanitation, and medical accessories during the training period.
We also have separate accommodation and restrooms for the personnel or guests displaying symptoms.
What is the scope of the safe tourism Program?
Accommodation facilities having more than 30 rooms must register at safe tourism. However, it remains optional for the facilities with rooms less than 30. Restaurants or cafés, tour transfer vehicles, congress facilities, sea tourism, ski lifts, arts & culture, and theme parks should also not stay behind in developing association with safe tourism Program.
